The School Day
We believe that every minute is a learning minute, and that coming to school on time and every day is one of the most important ways to ensure that every child makes the best progress they possibly can!
As such, we have a rolling entry to school at the beginning of the day, where pupils are welcomed into the classroom between 8:40am and 9:00am. As pupils arrive in this time, they will be able to complete morning work tasks to practice key skills, revisit reading techniques, and get support from the class teacher and classroom assistant to help them be ready for the school day. (This also reduces parking congestion around the school during the morning.)
School opening times are 8:40am - 3:15pm.
Nursery opening times are 8:40am - 11:40am
8:40am - Doors open, our school day begins.
9:00am - All doors to classrooms are locked. If your child is arriving after this time, please bring them to the school office where you will be required to sign your child in, providing a reason for their late arrival.

Please find below examples of timetables for each phase of learning. Morning sessions are most often structured around reading, writing and mathematics, as we believe that a consistent and predictable morning structure allows all of our pupils to learn more effectively. The example timetables below indicate where other elements of the curriculum may take place.
If you wish to discuss the curriculum further, or have queries about the opportunities afforded to your children while they attend Ackton Pastures, please do not hesitate to speak with the class teacher, school office or a member of the pastoral team.
